Ladyjacks Fall To Bearkats

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The Ladyjacks traveled to Huntsville to make up a postponed match with Sam Houston on Wednesday, but could only manage one win in singles play as they fell 6-1 overall to the Bearkats.
Tatiana Smolnikova was the only Ladyjack (3-14, 2-6 SLC) to register a win on Saturday, defeating Stasa Vujosevic (6-1, 6-3) in No. 6 singles play. Other than that, the Ladyjacks never could get anything going as the Bearkats only lost a single set in any other match on the afternoon.
Roxana Enica took the first set in No. 2 singles, but Giorgia Pozzan was ultimately too much as she came back to take the final two sets (4-6, 6-1, 6-2).
Enica and Alina Shazkho also saw their three-match win streak in doubles play come to a halt, falling 8-3 to Irina Sotnikova and Peta Taylor.
SFA is back in action at home this weeked, first with a match on Friday against Oklahoma Christian followed by a Saturday match with Central Arkansas. Both matches will be played at the Schlief Tennis Complex.
