SFA Tennis Wraps Up Home Invitational Tournament

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team finished strong Saturday afternoon winning three singles draws at the annual SFA Fall Invitational.
Sophomore Alina Shazhko played an impressive tournament winning her singles draw in straight sets. In addition to Shazhko, Paolo Muntuenga and Jamie Williams also finished first in both of their singles brackets. Doubles duo Roxana Enica and Shazhko fell short in the finals to Sam Houston's Dent/Pozzan 8-2.
"I'm happy with how hard the girls played for our first tournament of the season," SFA head coach Bret Arrant said. "We won three out of the seven draws in singles play and freshman Paola (Muntuenga) really showed up strong. We still have some things to work on before the ULM tournament next week."
The Ladyjacks are next scheduled to play in the ULM tournament in Monroe, La., Friday, October 9th.
