PINEHURST, N.C. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack golf team fired an opening-day 666 at the Ross Resorts Invitational at Mid Pines Country Club Monday afternoon. The Ladyjacks are currently ninth heading into the final round of action.
Four Ladyjacks were within one stroke of one another after the opening round of action, but Wallis Spears began to separate herself in the second round. Spears improved by six strokes in the second round and is currently tied for 37th overall after shooting an 84-78 - 162. Classmate Chelsea Simmons is only three strokes off Spears pace with an 85-80 - 165. She is currently tied for 46th overall.
Freshman Allison Flake is tied for 52nd after shooting an opening-day 169. Junior Noelle Willcoxon is only a stroke back of Flake with her 84-86 - 170, and is currently tied for 54th. Freshman Erin Daurity is 59th with her opening-day 193.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday morning for the final round of action at the Ross Resorts Invitational.
