'Jacks Move Up in the Polls

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team climbed to 15th in the latest Sports Network Top-25 poll released Monday afternoon. The 'Jacks jumped five spots from their previous ranking. SFA also climbed three spots to 18th in the FCS Coaches Top-25 poll.
The Lumberjacks are currently 5-1 overall, and 2-0 in Southland Conference play. SFA is currently tied with Southeastern Louisiana for the top spot in the conference. The Lumberjacks enter Saturday's annual Battle of the Piney Woods having knocked off consecutive top-10 teams, and riding a five-game win streak.
Sam Houston State enters Saturday's game with a 3-3 overall record, and a 1-1 Southland Conference mark. The game against the Bearkats is slated to begin at 2 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
