SFA Signee Named to 2008 All-Star Team

Livingston kicker/punter, and 2008 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack signee, Drew Nelson has been named to the Texas High School Coaches Association South All-Star team according to the THSCA web site.
A 6-1, 195-pound athlete, Nelson was a two-time first-team all-district selection for coach Randy Rowe at Livingston. Nelson was nearly perfect during his career converting 12-of-15 (.800) field-goal attempts, and 80-of-84 (.952) extra point tries. He also holds the Livingston High School record for longest field goal.
Entering the 2008 season, the battle for the kicking and punting responsibilities will come down between Nelson and Lumberjack returnee Cory Long.
The THSCA All-Star game will take place Tuesday, July 29, in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamodome. The game is slated to kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
