ARLINGTON, Texas - The SFA tennis team nearly pulled out a win on Sunday at UT-Arlington, but the Lady Mavs had just enough gas to push past the Ladyjacks, 4-3, after SFA had already fallen to Texas State 4-0 the previous day.
UTA took the only two doubles matches played to earn that point claimed the middle three individual matches to squeak by the Ladyjacks.
SFA got a No. 1 singles win from Roxana Enica, who blasted Klara Jagosova in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. Enica's sister, Andreea, picked up another singles point for SFA by blanking Nelli Bodiford 6-0, 6-0. UTA defaulted in No. 6 singles play to give SFA its other tally.
That loss came on the heels of a shortened match on Friday, a 4-0 decision at the hands of Texas State. The Ladyjacks struggled the entire afternoon against the Lady Cats, not taking a single set in either singles or doubles play.
The Ladyjacks are on the road again this upcoming weekend, traveling to Natchitoches to face Northwestern State on Saturday before heading north to take on Central Arkansas on Sunday.
