NACOGDOCHES - 'JACKS GO IN SEARCH OF CONSECUTIVE VICTORIES: Fresh off its thrilling victory over Southeastern Louisiana, that saw the Lumberjacks rally from a 28-0 first-half deficit, SFA will now look to make it two in a row. The 'Jacks (2-3) will host Kentucky Wesleyan in their final non-conference tilt of the season. The Panthers enter the contest with an identical 2-3 (.400) mark, and are coming off an impressive 34-13 win over Grand View. The game, which was originally scheduled to be played the weekend Hurricane Ike ripped through East Texas, will conclude a season-long three-game homestand for SFA. The contest is slated to kick off at 6 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium.
PINK OUT GAME: Saturday's game will serve as a Pink Out Game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness week. The Lumberjacks have teamed up with the ZTA sorority for the Pink Out game. Pink shirts will be handed out at the gate with a $5 donation. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and support the Lumberjacks.
SFA vs. THE PANTHERS: Saturday's contest will mark the third time this season that SFA has faced an opponent for the first time in program history.
SPECIAL TEAMS CONTINUE TO THRILL: The Lumberjacks have placed added attention on their special teams, and it is paying off. Saturday night Rainey Sternes blocked a Southeastern Louisiana punt through the back of the end zone for a safety. It is the third consecutive week with SFA blocking either a punt or a field goal try, and their fifth block of the season. The 'Jacks blocked one kick all of last season. Later in the contest SLU punter Cody Samples was dropped at his own nine-yard line after a bad snap. Two plays later, SFA turned the Lion miscue into eight points.
FORCING THE ISSUE: Junior Tim Knicky forced his fourth fumble of the season in the second quarter of SFA's win over Southeastern Louisiana. The 'Jacks forced 11 fumbles last season with no player having more than two. McNeese State's Bryan Smith and Central Arkansas' Corey McMurrian led the SLC last season with four forced fumbles apiece.
HOLY MOSES: Jeremy Moses completed four touchdown passes against the Lions, and has 24 in his career. He is currently tied for eighth all-time in school history in that category. Moses' 18 TD passes this season also places him eighth on the school's single-season top-10 list.
