
Lumberjack Golf Heads to Fort Worth

NACOGDOCHES - Second-year head coach Trey Schroeder, and his Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team travel to Fort Worth, Texas Monday to open play in the UTA/Waterchase Invitational. The two-day tournament will take place at the Waterchase Golf Club. The 15-team field will consist of Arkansas State, Cal Poly, Centenary, Central Arkansas, Central Oklahoma, McNeese State, Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri State, Nicholls State, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, Southern Illinois, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State and host Texas-Arlington.
The 54-hole event begins Monday with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. SFA will return to the course Tuesday at 8 a.m. to play the final 18 holes of the invitational.
SFA will be sending a very young squad to Fort Worth for the invitational. The 'Jacks roster will include three freshmen and two sophomores. The sophomores are Matt Oates and Jacob Taylor, and the freshmen are Michael Smith, Kyle Robbins and Justin Weant.
