
Lumberjacks Fall 7-1 at Southeastern La.

HAMMOND, La. - Stephen F. Austin's Noel Trevino hit a double down the left field line in the top of the sixth to send Kevin Crabtree across the plate to tie the score at one, but a Southeastern Louisiana run in the bottom of the same inning broke the tie and a five-run seventh sealed the win. SFA fell 7-1 at Southeastern Louisiana Sunday afternoon to move its Southland Conference record to 0-2 on the year while the Lions move to 2-0. The Lumberjacks are 11-12 overall and SLU sits with a 16-5 season record.
Lumberjack southpaw Lance Luetge pitched six innings to take his second loss of the season. He gave up seven hits and six runs, four earned. He had six strikeouts and walked only one. Luetge's record moved to 4-2 on the year.
At the plate, Trevino had two of the Lumberjacks' four hits. Justin Long was 1-for-2 and Jeff Brewer was 1-for-3. Trevino's double was his seventh of the year and he also took his third stolen base.
SFA and Southeastern Louisiana will face off in the final game of the series Sunday at 1 p.m. from Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
