
SFA Golf 10th at Rice Intercollegiate

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team currently sits 10th after the first day of competition at the Rice Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas Saturday. SFA shot 311-317 - 628 during Saturday's competition. The Lumberjacks were paced by junior Chad Spencer who shot an opening-day 75-79 - 154. Spencer enters Sunday's competition tied for 19th overall.
Freshman Matthew Oates carded the second-best round for the Lumberjacks shooting a 79-76 - 155. He enters Sunday's play tied for 26th overall. Classmate Richard Wilkenfeld shot an opening-day 80-76 to finish the day tied for 29th with a 156. Senior Ryan Salinas is currently tied for 59th with his 77-83 - 163 on Sunday. Sophomore Johnathan Porter turned in an 83-87 and is currently 71st overall with a 170.
The Lumberjacks will conclude the Rice Intercollegiate with the final round of action Sunday at the Westwood Golf Course.
