Lumberjacks Assists Wal-Mart Patrons

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack offensive unit didn't mind taking a sack, or two, Saturday as the SFA football team participated in the second annual 'Jacks with Sacks' at Wal-Mart.
Lumberjack football players were on hand to assist Wal-Mart patrons with their purchases, hand out 2006 schedule cards as well as helping people beat the scorching heat by serving refreshments. The 2006 Lumberjack team captains, Andrew Fleck, Keldrick Holman, Michael Motte and Danny Southall, were also on hand signing autographs for fans.
The Lumberjacks kick off the 2006 season Thursday, Aug. 31 in Tulsa, Okla., against the Golden Hurricane. The Lumberjacks' home opener will be Saturday, Sept. 9, against Delta State. The game against the Statesmen will begin at 6 p.m. in Homer Bryce Stadium.
