NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks swept the doubles point with 8-3 scores all across the board, but it was not enough as the Ladyjack tennis team fell to McNeese State, 5-2, in its first Southland Conference match on its home courts at the SFA Tennis Complex on Friday. The loss pushes SFA's overall record to 4-6 on the year and 0-2 in SLC play.
SFA won all three doubles matches to take the doubles point, but only Mary Harrison could win in singles play for the Ladyjacks. Harrison, a freshman from Shreveport, La., defeated McNeese State's Hanna Bihorac in No. 5 singles, 6-4 and 6-3.
Friday's match was the first of four straight home match for the Ladyjacks. The next will be on Thursday, March 16, against Centenary College in non-conference action. The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start at the SFA Tennis Complex.
