
Ladyjack Tennis Splits Weekend Matches

ABILENE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team traveled to Abilene, Texas, over the weekend to compete against Abilene Christian and Texas-Pan American at the Abilene Christian Indoor Classic. The Ladyjacks split the contests and are now 1-2 on the season.
SFA fell to ACU, 6-1, and defeated UTPA by the same score.
Senior Megan Langston finished the weekend 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles play with partner Kama Scott. Langston, playing in front of her home crowd, defeated Elysia Sloan of UTPA, 8-1 in No. 4 singles and took the win (7-5, 6-4) in No. 5 singles play versus ACU.
Together with Scott at No. 1 doubles, the duo defetaed UTPA's Silke Buksik and Nikki Garcia, 8-2. Langston and Scott fell to ACU's No. 1 pair, 8-4.
The Ladyjacks will host their home opener on Saturday, Feb. 11, against Texas Southern and Oral Roberts. The match against Oral Roberts is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on the SFA Tennis Courts.
