SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team wrapped up Day 1 of the UTSA Intercollegiate Monday at Oak Hills Country Club. The Lumberjacks shot 297 as a team in each round. That number was good enough to earn a tie for sixth place after Round 1, but SFA slipped into a tie for ninth with the College of Charleston after duplicating the score in the second round.
Senior Brian Grossman finished the first day of play tied for 13th in the individual standings. Grossman carded rounds of 71 and 74. Sophomore Tyler Trichell was in 25th, with rounds of 76 and 72. Senior Jason Landry shot a 75 in each round to finish the day in 35th. Senior Josh Price carded a 75 in the first round, then an 82 in Round 2, and junior Ryan Salinas put together rounds of 83 and 76.
