MARTIN, Tenn. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack equestrian team notched its fourth consecutive win defeating Tennessee-Martin, 8-7, Saturday afternoon in Martin. The overall raw point total was 1053.5 - 948.5.
The Ladyjacks recorded victories from Alex Berry in the Equitation Over Fences competition, and received winning scores from Randi Spencer and Alex Fincher in Equitation on the Flat, but UT-Martin recorded a 5-3 advantage after the English competition.
The Ladyjacks dominated the western competition scoring five points. Kayla Krambeck recorded a score of 72.5 in Western Horsemanship, while teammates Monika Brindley and Jamie Melgares posted a score of 74 to record wins. Melgares scored 64 points in the Western Reining competition to notch her second victory of the afternoon. The Ladyjacks' Kayle Bernal recorded the team's other victory with her score of 60.5 points in the western reining competition.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday, Nov. 18 when they travel to Athens, Ga., to compete against the Lady Bulldogs.
