
Golf Opens Season in North Carolina

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team will open the 2005 fall season this weekend at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, N.C.
Seniors Brian Grossman and J.P. Landry, juniors Spencer Hutton and Ryan Salinas and freshman Josh Irving will tee it up for SFA.
Grossman is the team's top returning player. He logged 15 rounds and a 74.86 stroke average last fall and played 17 rounds, averaging 75.7 strokes per round, in the spring. Grossman finished in the Top 10 at two events in the spring and once in the fall.
Golfers at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate will play three rounds over two days, beginning with Rounds 1 and 2 on Monday. The final round will be completed Tuesday. The event is hosted by Mid Pines Country Club in Pinehurst.
