NACOGDOCHES - Fans coming to the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks' season opener against Henderson State Thursday night with at least a case of bottled water will receive free admission to the game. SFA Athletics, the SFA Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Animal Science Products of Nacogdoches are teaming up to provide hurricane relief to the New Orleans area.
The damaging effects of Hurricane Katrina have left New Orleans and its surrounding areas with a need for clean water. Animal Science Products is donating a truck to load up the bottled water and will transport it to the affected areas following the game.
Donations will be accepted at the southwest and southeast gates of Homer Bryce Stadium, starting at 5 p.m.
SFA kicks off the season Thursday night against the Reddies. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
