SFA Falls In Series Finale

ARLINGTON -- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team (16-27, 8-16) fell to the UT-Arlington Lady Mavericks Sunday afternoon by a 6-0 count in the rubber game of a three game SLC series. The teams had split Saturday's doubleheader.
SFA managed only five hits off the Mavericks' Jill Garro through six innings as she shutout SFA while striking out three. Fuentes came on in relief to work a hitless seventh inning to end the game.
Crystal Dahlquist was the only Ladyjack with more than one hit as she went 2-3 with a pair of singles. Carrie Woydziak, Jessica Tullos and Kristen Gabourie picked up one hit each.
Traci Moore (5-10) picked up the loss as she was charged with four runs on six hits in two innings of work. Julie Morse was also charged with a pair of runs on five hits in four innings of relief.
SFA closes out the regular season this weekend in Hammond, La. against Southeastern Louisiana.
