SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team dropped a heart-breaker to Texas State, 4-3, Saturday afternoon in San Marcos, Texas. The loss drops SFA to 4-3 in Southland Conference play.
The Ladyjacks jumped out to a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point. SFA picked up doubles wins from the team of senior Robin Houston and sophomore Laura Harrison at No. 1 singles, while senior Ashley Johnson and junior Megan Langston followed with a win at No. 2 doubles. But the lead didn't last long as Texas State rallied to win four of the first five singles matches.
The Ladyjacks got singles victories from sophomore Lauren Nowicki at No. 3 singles and junior Kama Scott at No. 6 singles.
SFA returns to action Sunday when it travels to San Antonio, Texas, to take on the Roadrunners. The match is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
