NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Sam Houston State, 12-6, Thursday afternoon in the SFA/SHSU Super Dual match. The match was a make-up from the fall season so it doesn't count against the Ladyjacks record. The two teams played 18 matches, which included 12 singles and six doubles competitions.
The Ladyjacks Kama Scott was a bright spot winning both her singles matches, picking up a victory at Nos. 5 and 6 singles. Other Ladyjacks to pick up singles victories were senior Ashley Johnson at No. 3 singles, sophomore Lauren Nowicki at three singles and junior Megan Langston at No. 5 singles.
The duo of Langston and Johnson picked up the Ladyjacks lone doubles victory, winning at No. 1 doubles during the afternoon session.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday Feb. 12, when they travel to Shreveport, La., to take on Centenary. The match against the Ladies is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
