
SFA Golfers Wrap up in Monroe

MONROE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team shot a 301 Tuesday in the final round of the ULM/Fred Marx Invitational to finish the event in ninth place. The Lumberjacks came into the final day in sixth place after carding scores of 294 and 296 in the first two rounds.
SFA's top individual performer was senior J.P. Landry, who finished tied for seventh place at 3-over par 219. Landry shot a 75 in the third round after opening with a 73 and carding a 71 in Round 2.
Sophomore Chad Spencer shot a final-round 73 to finish tied for 11th at 4-over 220. Junior James Winkley finished tied for 33rd at 9-over 225. Classmate Ryan Salinas carded a 76 Tuesday to finish at 11-over 227. Freshman Josh Irving finished at 14-over par 230, and senior Brian Grossman wrapped up at 17-over with a three-round total of 233.
The Lumberjacks' next scheduled competition is the Baylor Invitational. The event is set to kick off on Oct. 9 in Waco, Texas.
