SFA Golf Set for Fred Marx Invitational

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team will open play in the sixth annual ULM/Fred Marx Invitational, Monday on the campus of Louisiana-Monroe in Monroe, La. The Lumberjacks won last year's team title by three strokes with a 17-over par 881.
Seniors Brian Grossman and J.P. Landry, juniors Ryan Salinas and James Winkley, sophomore Chad Spencer and freshman Josh Irving will make the trip to Monroe.
SFA is coming off a 10th-place team finish at the Mid Pines Intercollegiate, its first event of the fall season. Grossman posted the highest individual finish for the Lumberjacks. He finished tied for fifth, three shots back of the individual medallist.
This year's Fred Marx Invitational will begin Monday at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start. The event will wrap up with Round 3 Tuesday, starting at 8:30 a.m.
