WACO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin golf team wrapped up competition at the Baylor Invitational Tuesday, finishing the two-day tournament in 11th place. Two Lumberjacks finished in the Top 20 individually.
Sophomore Chad Spencer and senior Brian Grossman led the way for the Lumberjacks. Spencer sandwiched rounds of 74 around second-round 72 to finish tied for 16th place. Grossman finished one stroke back in a tie for 19th.
Freshman Josh Irving turned in a three-round total score of 226 and finished tied for 43rd, and junior Ryan Salinas carded a 238, which left him in a tie for 75th. Jason Landry shot a 79 in Round 1 before withdrawing from the second round. He finished up on Tuesday with a 77.
The Lumberjacks return to action next Monday with the Louisiana Tech Invitational in Ruston, Louisiana.
