Spencer Joins Lumberjack Golf Team

Stephen F. Austin golf coach Mike Hopson has added another golfer for the 2004-05 season with the addition of Chad Spencer to the squad. Spencer, a freshman from Cypress-Falls High School, signed to play with the 'Jacks late this summer. Spencer was the Houston Golf Association's Junior Player of the Year and as a result was given an exemption into the Greater Houston City Amateur Championship in September. The event will be played at Houston's Memorial Park Golf Course. Spencer shot rounds of 72-72-68 at Memorial earlier this summer in the Eddie Burke Young Houstonians Tournament in July. Spencer joins Trevor Suantry as the only Houston area products on the Lumberjack golf squad.
