
Ladyjacks Fall to Sam Houston State

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team traveled to Huntsville Thursday afternoon to take on SLC rival Sam Houston State. The Bearkats defeated SFA, 5-2. The Ladyjacks are now 6-11 on the season and 3-7 (.300) in Southland Conference play.
The Bearkats jumped out to a 1-0 lead after winning at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles. SHSU added to its lead winning at the Nos. 1 through 4 singles positions before the Ladyjacks got on the scoreboard.
Sophomore Megan Langston picked up SFA's first victory of the night with her 6-0, 6-0, win over the Bearkats' Amanda Jung at the No. 5 spot. Freshman Kama Scott added a win at the No. 6 singles position with her 6-0, 6-1, victory.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday when they return home to face Louisiana Tech in the 2004 regular-season finale. The match against the Lady Techsters is set to begin at 2 p.m.
