
UTSA Sweeps doubleheader from Ladyjacks

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team dropped two games to conference rival Texas-San Antonio Saturday afternoon. Game one was a pitcher's duel that saw UTSA outlast the Ladyjacks, 1-0. SFA scored five runs in the second game but the Roadrunners held on for the 7-5 victory. SFA is now 17-22 (.436) overall and 7-10 (.412) in Southland Conference play.
The Ladyjacks were only able to manage three hits in the first game as Lee Lara, Nicole Carter and Crista Hargrove each recorded a hit. Senior Crissy Autry had another solid outing on the mound surrendering only six hits and one run in six innings of work but she took the loss in a heartbreaker.
Stats for the second games of the doubleheader were not available at press time.
The Ladyjacks return to action Sunday when they close out the three-game series against UTSA. The game against the Roadrunners is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
