`Jacks Finish Eighth at SLC Championships

MAGNOLIA, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team wrapped up the 2004 Southland Conference Golf Championships Wednesday afternoon finishing eighth with its three-day score of 886 (296-299-291). Junior Dustin Byrd paced the Lumberjacks with his three-under par 213 (71-70-72).
The Lumberjacks' Brian Grossman finished 10 strokes back of Byrd with a three-day score of 72-78-73-223. Grossman finished tied for 20th overall. Trevor Sauntry recorded the 'Jacks third-lowest score, finishing the tournament tied for 30th (78-75-72-225). J.P. Landry finished three strokes back of Sauntry with a 228 (75-79-74). Landry finished tied for 35 overall. Jeremy Ice shot a three-over par 75 in the final round to finish tied for 40th with a 230 (79-76-75).
