
SFA Takes Pair From Texas Southern

HOUSTON, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team (21-24) swept both ends of a non-conference doubleheader Thursday night by winning game one, 18-1 and taking the nightcap 12-2 over Texas Southern.
The 'Jacks pounded out 21 hits in game one, scoring at least two runs in each of the five innings played. Carrie Woydziak led the way at the plate with four hits in five trips. Woydziak scored five runs and drove in a pair, as she picked up a double, a triple and a pair of singles. Chelsea Lundberg also added a home run as she went 3-5 with six RBI. Lee Lara also picked up three hits in game one.
Nicole Carter pitched 3.1 innings allowing one run on five hits to pick up the win.
