SFA Golfers In Second Place Heading Into Day Two

HATTIESBURG, MIss. -- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team shot rounds of 297-282 Monday on day one of the Sam H. Hall Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, hosted by Southern Mississippi at Hattiesburg, Country Club. SFA enters Tuesday's final 18-holes of play six shots back of tournament leader Southern Mississippi.
Dustin Byrd, a junior from Fort Worth, led the 'Jacks Monday with rounds of 73-67 and is in second place, three shots back of Fredrik Lundberg of West Florida. Brian Grossman, a sophomore from Mansfield, is also among the top 10, in sixth place with rounds of 73-69.
J.P. Landry enters Tuesday in a tie for 30th after shooting rounds of 77-72, Jeremy Ice is also tied for 30th after shooting 75-74, and Trevor Sauntry is in a tie for 49th following rounds of 76-76 Monday.
The tournament concludes Tuesday with 18-holes of play at the 6,892 yard Hattiesburg Country Club.
