
'Jacks Lead Heading Into Final Round At Bayou DeSiard

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team shot a second round 292 Monday afternoon to move into first place at the ULM/Fred Marx Invitational at Bayou DeSiard Country Club in Monroe, La. SFA leads by a stroke over host team, UL-Monroe and by two shots over Middle Tennessee.
Dustin Byrd opened with a 73 in the morning round but bounced back with a blistering round of 68 Monday afternoon and holds the individual lead heading into the final round by one shot over teammate Brian Grossman. Grossman shot rounds of 72-70 and is one shot back of Byrd and tied with Chase Cooper of UL-Monroe.
J.P. Landry and Matt Burke are in a logjam at 29th with rounds of 77-77. Spencer Hutton opened with an 80 Monday morning, but shot a 77 in the afternoon round of play.
The tournament concludes with 18-holes of play Tuesday morning.
