SFA Golf Team Third After First Round Of ULM Invitational

Brian Grossman helped pace the Lumberjacks to an opening round total of 299 at the ULM/Fred Marx Invitational at Bayou DeSiard Country Club, in Monroe, La. Monday. Grossman enters the second 18 holes of play in third place after the morning round.
Dustin Byrd shot a 73 and entered the second round in seventh place. J.P. Landry and Matt Burke both fired opening rounds of 77 and are in a tie for 27th after the opening round. Spencer Hutton, a transfer from Minnesota, shot an opening round 80 for the Lumberjacks.
McNeese State held the first round lead with an opening round 294 followed by Texas State at 298, SFA followed with a 299.
Round two will be completed lat Monday with the third round set for Tuesday morning.
