Ladyjacks Stomp Cardinals

BEAUMONT, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team was relentless Wednesday afternoon beating Lamar, 17-1. SFA lost only one match during the double-header with the Cardinals.
Junior Robin Houston led the Ladyjacks' attack recording three victories, two of them in singles play. Ladyjack newcomers Laura Harrison, Kama Scott and Lauren Nowicki had a big afternoon as the trio recorded seven victories, including Harrison's No. 1 singles victory over Lamar's Elena Korbout, 6-4, 5-7 (7-5), in the afternoon session. Melissa Bass, Megan Langston and Emily Voss each recorded two victories for SFA at the super challenge match. Junior Ashley Johnson recorded a victory at No. 5 singles over the Cardinas' Beatris Deregil, 6-1, 4-6 (13-11).
The Ladyjacks will continue the 2003-fall season Friday Sept. 26th at the Lamar Tournament. The tournament will be a two-day event held in Beaumont, Texas.
