Three current athletic training staff members, Dr. Linda Bobo, Graduate Athletic Training Program Director and former assistant volleyball coach Jennie Collings competed this past Sunday in the Moe's Better Half Marathon, in San Marcos.
Head athletic trainer Sandy Miller, finished sixth in his age division in the 13 mile event with a time of 1:54.52. J.D. Shields, a graduate assistant in the department finished with a time of 1:53.14, good for a 17th place finish in the male 25-29 age division. Shields also finished 106th overall. Dr. Bobo completed the course with a time of 1:57.06, seventh in her division.
Assistant athletic trainer Loree McCary and former volleyball assistant Jennie Collings walked the course in 3:00.45. The duo had set a goal of three hours to complete the course and were just 45 seconds away from meeting the goal. But, when you've been walking for three hours, what's 45 seconds?
