NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin State University head football coach Mike Santiago has announced the signing of TeRai Lawson, a defensive tackle from Houston Yates High School, to continue his education and play football for the Lumberjacks next fall.
Lawson, a 6-3, 265-pound tackle, played as both an offensive and defensive lineman last season at Yates High School, and also started for the Yates High School basketball team as a forward. He earned First Team All-District honors as both an offensive lineman and a defensive tackle his senior season and was also a Second Team All-District selection in basketball.
A three year letterwinner in three sports - football, basketball and track, Lawson also led his high school district in the shot put.
He joins three other defensive linemen in the 2002 recruiting class, signed earlier this year.
Fall camp opens August 6, when newcomers report to begin preparations for the August 31 opener with Portland State.
