Ladyjacks Fall to Northwestern State

NATCHITOCHES, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Northwestern State Sunday, 6-1. The Ladyjacks are now 5-4 (.556) overall and 2-2 (.500) in Southland Conference action.
The Lady Demons jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the doubles play when the team of Alexandra Nieto and Ngoc Luu defeated the Ladyjacks tandem of freshmen Robin Houston (Shreveport, La.) and Ashley Johnson (Nacogdoches, Texas) at No. 3 doubles, 8-5. The Lady Demons increased their lead to 3-0 with victories at Nos. 1 and 2 singles before junior Sandra Wolfe (Austin, Texas) put SFA on the board with her 6-1, 6-1, win over Katy Wallace at No. 3 singles. But that would be as close as SFA would get as Northwestern State swept the final three singles' matches.
The Ladyjacks will return to action Tuesday April 2nd, when they travel to Beaumont, Texas, to take on Lamar. The match is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
