
'Jacks Use Overtime To Defeat Louisiana Tech, 34-31

RUSTON, La. (AP) - Ryan Rossner kicked a 35-yard field goal in overtime to give Stephen F. Austin a 34-31 victory over Louisiana Tech on Saturday night.
The victory by Division I-AA Stephen F. Austin (3-0) denied Louisiana Tech its 500th school victory and dealt the winless Bulldogs their third straight loss.
Each team scored touchdowns in its first overtime sessions, Stephen F. Austin on Scott Keys' 19-yard run and Louisiana Tech on Maxie Causey's 35-yard pass to Allen Stark.
Louisiana Tech's Josh Scobee missed a 39-yard field goal on the first possession of the second overtime. Stephen F. Austin drove to the 8 and got a bad snap on a third-down field-goal attempt from 25 yards, setting the stage for Rossner's game-winning kick.
Stephen F. Austin took a 17-0 lead in the first quarter on Rossner's 37-yard field goal and touchdown runs of 8 yards by Travis Fallon and 31 yards by Derrick Blaylock.
Tech tied it with Corey Addison's 31-yard run late in the first quarter, Scobee's 23-yard field goal, and Brian Stallworth's 14-yard touchdown pass to Sean Cangelosi in the second quarter.
Tech moved ahead 24-17 with a 36-yard touchdown pass from Causey to John Simon early in the third period, but SFA sent the game into overtime with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Fallon to Taylor Bunch with 10 seconds remaining.
