Lumberjack Golf in Sixth AFter First Day In Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team entered Saturday's final round in a tie for sixth place at the Herb Wimberley Golf Classic hosted by New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. SFA entered the final 18-holes of play only 11 shots out of the lead, and six shots out of third place.
Tim Speichert led the way for the Lumberjacks, firing rounds of 68-74. Speichert is in sixth place as an individual, only three shots off the pace set by San Diego's Ryan Hanratty. Hanratty shot rounds of 70-69 for the individual tournament lead.
The 'Jacks Trey Schroeder also entered the final round in the top 15, tied for 13th following a first day total of 145, with rounds of 71-74.
