JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Derrick Blaylock ran for 120 yards on 13 carries and Wes Pate passed for 209 yards in Stephen F. Austin's 27-21 victory over Jacksonville State on Thursday night.
The Stephen F. Austin (5-3, 2-2 Southland) scored four touchdowns before Jacksonville State's Herman Bell scored on a 33-yard pass from Reggie Stancil with 7:14 left in the third quarter.
The Lumberjacks opened the scoring on Pate's 2-yard touchdown with 1:23 left in the first quarter. Early in the second, Kevon Morton returned a blocked punt 3 yards for a touchdown.
With 10:47 left in the third quarter, the Lumberjacks' Beau Hodges scored on a 4-yard pass from Pate. About two minutes later, Freddy Lyons scored a fourth TD on a 51-yard pass from Pate.
Jacksonville State (2-5, 1-4) rallied in the fourth, scoring two TDs. Carlow James scored on a 10-yard pass from Stancil, and Randy Rogers ran 12 yards for a score with nine minutes left.
The Lumberjacks had 445 total yards to Jacksonville State's 353.
