Dr. Shelby Gonser joined the SFA Sports Medicine team in 2025 as the Head Football Athletic Trainer. She came from Indiana State University where she spent the first 2 years of her career providing health care to the Football and Cross Country and Track & Field teams.
Gonser graduated from Indiana State University with her Doctorate of Athletic Training in 2025 with a research focus area in Progressive Autonomy in Athletic Training Education.
Gonser, a native of Charlotte Michigan, completed her Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in coaching at Michigan State University in 2020. She then completed her Masters of Athletic Training at Indiana State University in 2023.
