Coach Rodriguez is entering his first season as a volunteer assistant for the SFA Beach Volleyball team.
Rodriguez started with a scholarship to play for INCCA University for his first five years, while obtaining a degree in Sports Science. After completing his degree, he received another scholarship to play for UDCA University as an opposite hitter. While continuing to play, he obtained a post-graduate degree in Sports Training. He also assisted his team in winning the regional championship that year and runner up in the National College Tournament.
Rodriguez has played at the top level, with various teams in his country from 2007 to 2011. During that time, he also played beach volleyball.
Coach Rodriguez started his career as a club and high school coach in 2005. After four years, he moved up to coach universities and top level teams: while Head Coach at the FUAC University, they qualified for the regional finals; as head coach of the UDCA University women's team for four years, they achieved a regional 3rd place finish; qualified for national finals while head coach of UDCA University Beach Volleyball program; qualified for nationals as head coach of Bogota's beach volleyball team; and served as team staff for Colombia’s national beach volleyball team for one year.
Rodriguez is certified as an FIVB Coach, USAV Coach and has been certified in Colombia, Spain and Germany.
Shortly after moving to the USA in 2018, Coach Rodriguez continued his coaching career as an assistant coach with Cedar Valley College and as club head coach and director within the NTR region.
