Keith Reiter will oversee the men’s and women’s Pole Vault, High Jump & Combined Event athletes in his fourth year at SFA.
In Reiter's first three years with the Lumberjacks, he has had success at the Conference and Regional levels. His athletes have also made multiple additions to the SFA School History’s Top-10 Performance list in the Women's Pole Vault, High Jump, Long Jump, Hurdles, Pentathlon, & Heptathlon as well as in the Men's High Jump, Heptathlon, Pole Vault, & Decathlon.
Over the last two years the team has garnered 4 Men’s Track & Field Team SLC Championship Trophies (two indoor and two outdoor titles). Along with the Team titles, Reiter has had 5 individual event champions at the SLC Championships and a podium sweep of the 2025 Men’s Outdoor Pole Vault with athletes finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place. The individual SLC Champions under Reiter’s tutelage include: Brayden Hill (2x outdoor & 1x indoor Men’s Pole Vault), Basia Mitchell (Indoor Pentathlon), Samuel Pavan (Outdoor Decathlon). At the regional level, Reiter has had men qualify for the NCAA Championships First Round in High Jump each year he has been with SFA.
During Reiter’s only year in the Western Athletic Conference with the Lumberjacks, his athletes achieved some great performances and podium finishes at the WAC Championships for SFA. Reiter coached the 2024 Men’s Indoor High Jump WAC Champion in Hunter Murphy as well as the 2024 Female Outdoor Pole Vault WAC Champion in Kira Van Den Ham. Along with the WAC Champion athletes, his group had podium finishes in the Women's Pentathlon, Men's & Women’s Long Jump, Men’s High Jump, Men's 110m hurdles, and Women's Triple Jump. Reiter also had a few athletes qualify for the NCAA Regional Meet in Men's High Jump and Men's Long Jump.
Reiter was honored as the NCAA DIII Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015 and has previously coached at Division II – Tiffin University, Division III – University of Mount Union, Division I – University of Cincinnati, and Division I - McNeese State University.
In 2023, Reiter coached the USA Indoor National Championship 3rd place finisher in the women’s High Jump. Mercedeez Francis, an athlete he coached for many years at Tiffin University, cleared a personal best of 1.87m / 6’ 1.5” to place 3rd.
With Tiffin University, Reiter was named the Associate Head Track & Field coach in his last year with the Dragons, 2022-23. He spent 9 years as the Vertical Jumps & Multi Events Coach for both the men & women including some seasons as the javelin and horizontal jumps coach. Reiter has coached over 50 student-athletes who qualified for the NCAA DII National Championships; including 28 1st Team All-American finishes across the following events: Men's pole vault, high jump, long jump, heptathlon & Women's high jump, long jump, and pentathlon. He has coached both a male and female NCAA National Champion with Cameron Burrows in the long jump and made school history by coaching the first female National Champion in Tiffin’s history, Marisa Gwinner, in the high jump. Reiter’s coaching and athletes played a large role in the team's NCAA National Championship indoor titles, Runner-Up, Third, and Fourth Place finishes; earning 7 NCAA team trophies in all during his time with the Dragons. In Coach Reiter’s tenure with Tiffin, 27 school records were broken including the men's and women's pole vault, men's & women’s high jump, women’s long jump, and men’s heptathlon. Along with the school records, he accumulated 27 individual Conference Champions (GLIAC & GMAC) in pole vault, high jump, long jump and combined event disciplines for men and women. Reiter’s athletes played a major role in 5 Men’s Team & 2 Women’s Team Conference Championships. He has also rewritten the university's Top-10 performance list with numerous additions in both men’s and women’s high jump, pole vault, javelin, long jump, and combined events. Reiter also made a large impact on the academic side of student-athletes and has 8 CoSIDA Academic All-American Team honorees. At Mount Union, Reiter was in charge of the high jump, long jump, triple jump, and the combined event groups. He coached multiple national championship qualifiers including two All-Americans and a 3rd place team finish at the DIII National Championships. Coach Reiter also led athletes to OAC Conference titles in the high jump, triple jump, and helped the team garner Conference titles in indoor and outdoor for both men and women. At the University of Cincinnati, Reiter assisted with the jumps and distance event groups. Prior to Cincinnati, he spent three years as an assistant coach at McNeese State University in Louisiana where he worked with combined event athletes, jumps, and pole vault. During his time at McNeese State, Reiter had athletes break school records in women's pole vault, long jump, heptathlon, and pentathlon along with Southland Conference Champions in the long jump and heptathlon.
As a student-athlete, Reiter attended Tiffin University competing on the track and field team and previously held the pole vault school records. During his time as a Dragon, Reiter was a NAIA and NCAA National Championship competitor. Reiter holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Tiffin and a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from McNeese State University.
