Rifi Loutfi sets a new personal best in the 8k to secure SLC Runner of the Week honors.
FRISCO, Texas-Â The Southland Conference announced the first Cross Country Runners of the Week of the season on Wednesday afternoon.
SFA's Saad Rifi Loutfi finished third in a stacked field at the Texas A&M Invitational with a time of 23:59.6. He crushed his personal best 8k time by cutting off 43 seconds to lead his team to a victory over Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, and Houston.Â
Mercy Kipchumba earned an Honorable Mention on the women's side after finishing fourth in a stacked field at the Texas A&M Invitational with a time of 17:16.8 in the Women's 5k. She led her team to a fourth-place finish over TCU, Texas, and Louisiana.
