Competitive Dance Shines at NDA College Camp

SFA wins Gold Paid Bid to Nationals, garners first-place finishes in Gameday and D1 Team Dance with three athletes named All-American
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin competitive dance enjoyed an impressive weekend at the National Dance Alliance College Camp in Dallas on the campus of Southern Methodist University. The Jacks got off to a hot start for the 2026-27 competition year earning a Gold Paid Bid to Nationals as well as claiming first-place team finishes in Division I Team Dance and Game Day. Individually, three student-athletes earned All-American honors, while two others received nominations.
"Our NDA team has shown all the makings of our championship mindset and culture thus far and we are looking to continue our legacy at NDA while taking on UDA with our UDA team this season," remarked SFA competitive dance head coach TJ Maple.
SFA beat Central Arkansas, Tarleton State and Southland Conference foes Incarnate Word and Northwestern State to claim the Team Dance title.
Among the individual standouts for SFA were Leeah LaPoint, Nia Evans and Kamorah Brown who were all named NDA All-Americans. Kara Nava and Jonathan Quintero were nominees for the All-American honor.
