Pavan Earns SLC Field Athlete of the Week Honors

Graduate Frenchman records third-most decathlon points in program history
FRISCO, Texas – Stephen F. Austin graduate multi-athlete Samuel Pavan has been named the Southland Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week per the league's announcement on Wednesday afternoon, April 15. Pavan garner's the weekly honor because of his outstanding performance at the 44 Farms Invitational hosted by Texas A&M.
Pavan earned a third-place finish in the 15-athlete field after he recorded seven top five efforts highlighted by first-place finishes in the long jump (7.29m), shot put (14.93m) and pole vault (4.80m). Nine of his ten results were personal-best efforts for the native of Gières, France.
His 7445 total points in the event are currently the 13th most in the West Region, are the third most in the South Central Region and lead the Southland Conference.
