Lumberjacks face McNeese twice in January and visit Nicholls in February
NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin men's basketball will play three games on CBS Sports Network during the 2026–27 Southland Conference season. The Lumberjacks will face McNeese twice in January and travel to Nicholls in February as part of the largest national television package for men's basketball in conference history.
SFA's first national broadcast in the package is set for Monday, January 4, when the Lumberjacks visit McNeese for an 8:30 p.m. CT tipoff in Lake Charles, La. The Cowboys make the return trip to Nacogdoches on Friday, January 22, for an 8 p.m. CT game inside William R. Johnson Coliseum. The home matchup moves up one day from its original Saturday, January 23 date to fit the primetime billing.Â
The January games pit the defending Southland regular-season champions against the reigning conference tournament champions. The teams split their regular-season meetings in 2025–26, with each winning at home. McNeese edged SFA 66–64 in Lake Charles, and the Lumberjacks answered with a 67–60 win in Nacogdoches. The Cowboys won the third meeting, 76–59, in the Southland tournament championship game.Â
SFA's third televised matchup takes the Lumberjacks to Thibodaux, La., on Friday, February 19, for an 8 p.m. CT tipoff against Nicholls. The game moves up one day from its original Saturday, February 20 date.
The Southland's seven-game regular-season package includes five broadcasts on CBS Sports Network and two on ESPNU. SFA appears in three of the five CBS Sports Network games.
