
Dr. Jeanne-Marie Wilson Tabbed as Ladyjacks’ Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin women's basketball Head Coach Leonard Bishop named Dr. Jeanne-Marie Wilson as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The official announcement was made Tuesday, June 24th
Wilson returns to the state Texas after a four-year stint with the Howard Bisons in the same role. In the 2024-25 season she helped lead the Bisons to a 22-12 record and a second-round appearance in the WNIT. The Bisons also made the MEAC Championship game every season Wilson was on staff. In the 2021-22 season, the Bison won their first MEAC Tournament Title since 2001; thus, securing a berth to the NCAA Tournament. In the inaugural First Four Round, Howard defeated Incarnate Word and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament victory. Destiny Howell (All-MEAC), Anzhane' Hutton (All-MEAC, All-Defensive) and Iyanna Warren (All-MEAC) each grabbed conference postseason honors.
During the 2019-20 season, Wilson helped lead the Texas A&M-Commerce (now East Texas A&M) Lions to a 28-3 record, tying the program's record for the most wins in a single season. As a result, the team qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.
As a Division I assistant, Wilson has assisted with six winning seasons in seven years and four 20+ win seasons.
During the 2017-18 season, Wilson assisted at Northwest Kansas Technical College and helped the Mavericks to a 20-11 record and a Region VI playoff berth. In addition, Wilson helped coach Tran Brown, who was named a Women's Basketball Coaches Association JUCO All-American Honorable Mention selection following after the 2017-18 season.
Before her time at NWKTC, Wilson worked as an intern for the office of Sports Information at Shaw University while completing her master's degree in Athletic Administration at North Carolina Central University.
A 2015 graduate of Saint Augustine's University, Wilson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. As a three-year letter winner for the Lady Falcons women's basketball team, Wilson served as the starting guard and earned the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Rookie Team honors during the 2012-13 season as three CIAA Team Highest GPA Awards for women's basketball during her tenure. She averaged 9.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
A native of Prince Georges County, Maryland, Wilson was a McDonald's All-American nominee, a First Team All-Met recipient, and a Player of the Year recipient during her four years at Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Maryland.
On July 8th, 2023, Wilson welcomed her first child, Maverick Walker, to the world. Three months later, the new mother earned her doctorate degree in athletic administration from North Central University.
