
Men’s Basketball Tabs Duncan Bacon as Director of Basketball Operations

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack Basketball Team and Head Coach Matt Braeuer announced the hiring of Duncan Bacon on Monday afternoon to serve as the Director of Basketball Operations for the 2025-26 season.
Duncan Bacon enters his first season with the Lumberjacks basketball program after spending last season with newly hired Head Coach Matt Braeuer at Texas Tech University. Bacon served as a graduate assistant last season for the Red Raiders.
Bacon spent the 2023-24 season at Harding University where he served as a graduate assistant for the Bisons and helped lead the Bisons to their first Great American Conference (GAC) tournament appearance since the 2016-17 season.
Prior to his time with Texas Tech and Harding, Bacon attended Abilene Christian University where he spent four seasons as a student assistant for the ACU Wildcats basketball program. During his time with ACU, Bacon played a role in helping the Wildcats to three 20-win seasons, a Southland Conference Championship in 2021, and an 53-52 NCAA Tournament victory over three seeded Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021.
Bacon earned first team all-district honors while playing at Abilene Wylie High School and helped Wylie reach the regional finals. He earned his bachelor's degree in 2022 from ACU and his master's degree from Texas Tech's Sports Management Program this year.
