NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks have added to their strong spring signing class. Kyle Keller and SFA signed Keith Lamar this week, adding a prolific forward to the roster. This is Stephen F. Austin's third highly touted addition this spring.
Lamar is joining the Lumberjacks program after spending the past year at Florida A&M University. Lamar is known as a prolific scorer with deep range. The 6-5, 210-pound forward averaged 13.8 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and shot 42.4% from the 3-point range with 1.6 makes per game during his only season year at Florida A&M.
"Keith is someone we have known for quite a long time," said Kyle Keller, men's head basketball coach. "We recruited him back in high school and he comes from the ultra-successful AAU program where former Lumberjacks Kevon Harris and Davonte Fitzgerald played. He is truly a multi-dimensional scorer that has range well beyond the 3-point line. He fills a need on our roster as we continue to build for the 2024-25 season."
Prior to his time at Florida A&M, he spent a season at South Georgia State in Douglas, GA. During his time there, he led South Georgia State to a NJCAA Southeast Region Title. Lamar began his college career at Stetson, where he spent his first two years.
Before his time at Stetson, Lamar played at Eagle's Landing High School in McDonough, GA. During his senior season, he led his team to a 25-4 record. The Stockbridge, Georgia native earned first-team all-region honors, second team all-state honors, and second-team Southside all-metro while averaging 19 points per game during that season. During his junior year, he led his team to a 23-5 record and a region championship while averaging 10 points per game.
