Madi Wilkerson Named Head Beach Volleyball Coach

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin announced today that Madi Wilkerson has been named head coach of the beach volleyball program for the Lumberjacks.
"I am excited to announce Madi as our Head Beach Volleyball Coach at SFA, said Director of Athletics, Ryan Ivey, "Madi has had success as a student-athlete, and a coach and staff member. She has great experience and has been a tremendous asset and catalyst to the current success of our indoor volleyball team. Madi is an exceptional coach that believes in investing in and caring deeply about the student-athlete experience. I am confident she will be able to take what she has learned from one of the greatest volleyball coaches of all-time in Debbie Humphreys to continue the growth and create a sustained success model for our beach volleyball program."
Wilkerson is excited for this new role, "I want to say thank you to Ryan Ivey and Loree McCary for this tremendous opportunity. I have always been passionate about both beach and indoor volleyball and am looking forward to leading the SFA beach program. I appreciate the encouragement from Debbie Humphreys to step into this role and am excited to continue to call the Piney Woods home."
Wilkerson has spent the past two years as an Assistant Coach on Humphreys' indoor volleyball staff and will retain her role as an indoor assistant coach. Prior to joining SFA, she worked as the Director of Volleyball Operations and Technical Coordinator for Auburn University. Wilkerson played as a libero for Saint Mary's College of California for four years. She also played on the beach volleyball team and led the Gaels to a runner-up finish at the West Coast Conference Beach Volleyball Championship as a sophomore.
