Ladyjacks' Second Half Surge Defeats Roadrunners

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin defeated The University of Texas at San Antonio, 68-63 on opening night.
The first quarter was back and forth with neither team having more than a six point lead. At the first quarter break the score was tied at 19.
The second quarter was very similar to the first, but UTSA held the lead for most of the quarter.
SFA had their first buzzer beater of the season as Kurstyn Harden made a jumper to end the first half and bring the Ladyjacks to within two points at 36-34.
In the fourth SFA took the lead with eight minutes left in the game off of a three-point shot from Kyla Deck and never looked back.
Harden led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds. Aiyana Johnson also recorded eight rebounds in the game as well as three assists and one block. Freshman Jordan Harrison led SFA with four assists and two steals, while fellow freshman Kyla Deck finished with 14 points and four rebounds.
Angel Scott led the team with three steals and also recorded four rebounds and scored nine points.
SFA led in points off of turnovers (17-14), second chance points (13-10), fast break points (14-12), and bench points (32-20).
The Ladyjacks will be on the road to take on Rice on Thursday, November 10th with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
